Buyer's Market. The U.S. housing market has shifted dramatically into a buyer’s market, with sellers now outnumbering buyers by nearly 490,000, the largest gap since 2013, potentially leading to a 1% drop in home prices by the end of 2025 if trends continue. Redfin expects buyers may gain more purchasing power, while sellers could consider listing sooner.

Government Debt. The U.S. issued $1.7 trillion in Treasuries last year which totaled over half of all debt issued. This led investors to fund government borrowing over private sector needs, effectively crowding out capital that could stimulate economic growth.

Private Markets Trail Public Stocks. For the first time in nearly 25 years, private market funds have underperformed large-cap U.S. stocks across all key time horizons, as slowed private equity dealmaking drags returns and the S&P 500 widens its lead.
